Murat Mountain, the highest mountain in the Aegean Region, is 23.12 meters high and boasts a rich forest area of 400 hectares. It was declared an important plant and bird area by the Turkish Foundation for the Protection of Natural Life in May 2003. In 1987, it was also declared a Thermal Tourism Center by a Cabinet decision. Murat Mountain, known for its healing hot and cold springs, was one of the most beautiful places where the Mother Goddess Kyblee was worshipped during the Phrygian era.
